Georgia adopts healthy resolution.


In response to growing obesity rates in the state, the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA GRPA Georgia Recreation and Park Association (Conyers, GA)

) recently created and adopted a new resolution to offer healthy alternatives to children and families at community service agencies such as parks and recreation.

The resolution came after the state hosted a Step Up to Health summit, and states that "GRPA urges park, recreation, and community service agencies to promote the consumption of a variety of nutrient-dense foods within and among the basic food groups while choosing foods that limit the intake of saturated and trans fats trans fat

GRPA asks that any community agency that uses vending machines vending machine, coin-operated, automatic device for selling goods.
