AGL Networks, LLC (AGLN) announced today that Georgia Public Web Inc. has signed a long-term lease for access to and use of AGLN's fiber optic network in metropolitan Atlanta. Georgia Public Web, based in Atlanta, is a non-profit provider of Internet and telecommunications services. The company serves more than 40 municipal systems throughout Georgia.

AGLN owns, constructs and manages underground fiber optic networks that unite telecommunication service providers and their business customers. AGLN's dark fiber infrastructure allows carriers such as Georgia Public Web to cost effectively grow their network footprint and provide network diversity.

AGLN's infrastructure also provides two key "points of presence" (POPs) - where signals can be switched -- on Georgia Public Web's Atlanta network.

"The new route between our POPs will give us greater flexibility in moving our clients' Internet and telecommunications services among several long-distance carriers and Tier 1 ISPs," said David Muschamp, President and CEO.
