Georgia: BlazeSports conference in March held in Athens.


As many as 250 recreation, education and healthcare professionals will attend the 2004 BlazeSports Clubs of America National Disability Sports Conference March 7-10 at the University of Georgia Organization

The conference will also include sessions addressing various aspects of organizing and managing youth and adult sport programs for individuals with physical disability, keynote sessions featuring national and international sports leaders and the Wheelchair Sports USA delegate assembly.

"It has traditionally been very difficult for community recreation providers to find training that will provide the skills for them to teach the fundamentals of competitive sports to children and adults with physical disabilities. This seminar will offer instruction for these professionals from some of the top athletes and coaches in adaptive sports today. The presenters are all Paralympic or nationally recognized athletes and coaches in the specific sports covered in the seminar," says Andy Fleming, president of U.S. Disabled Athletes Fund.

Seminar keynote speakers will include Carol Mushett Johnson, technical officer and chair of the Sports Council for the International Paralympic Committee The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is an international non-profit organisation of elite sports for athletes with disabilities. Founded on September 22, 1989, the mission of the organization is ; and Charles Huebner, chief executive officer for the U.S. Olympic Committee's U.S. Paralympics division
