George Alexander Black.


George Alexander George Alexander may refer to:

 Black, a university professor who specialized in French literature and church music and served on several national Anglican church committees, died on July 1 in Paris at the age of 72.

Mr. Black served on General Synod's doctrine and worship committee and was a member of the editorial committee that worked on the Book of Alternative Senses. He chaired the task force that crafted the hymn book a book containing a collection of hymns, as for use in churches; a hymnal.

He also led workshops and conferences on worship and music in 18 Canadian dioceses as well as for such organizations as the Canadian Liturgical Society, the Royal Canadian College of Organists and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. In 1990, General Synod awarded Mr. Black the Anglican Award of Merit. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and two children.
