DMR is the Thai state agency that promotes, facilitates, monitors and controls exploration and production (E&P) activities of minerals, coal and petroleum in Thailand. The PCMIS data management center, to be located in Bangkok, will be used by DMR to support and accelerate the country's E&P development objectives. GeoQuest will provide software, hardware and training, as well as customization and data entry and archival services to establish the PCMIS. The center will handle E&P and associated data from all lease holders, operators and contractors in Thailand. The contract also calls for the installation of GeoQuest's industry-leading Finder(a) integrated data management system, including the SeisDB(a) seismic trace management and archival extension, and geologic and geophysical software. These software applications will be deployed to organize and preserve digital and hard-copy data and to ensure secure access and rapid retrieval of data by DMR staff.
