(R), version 4.0, a software platform for business process simulation, analysis, and automation. This release introduces important new capabilities for online deployment of simulation models and team analysis.

ReThink addresses the growing need for organizations to improve and sustain the performance of their business processes in the face of the constantly increasing volume and complexity of business data. ReThink enables businesses to design new processes, or adapt existing ones, to achieve higher levels of performance through improved service levels, reduced cycle times, and lowered costs. ReThink is especially well suited to logistics, scheduling, customer relationship management, e-business workflow, and a wide variety of other operations involving complex, coordinated activities.

ReThink is proven to deliver value across industries. For example, it has been used by Eli Lilly Eli Lilly can refer to:

  • Colonel Eli Lilly (1839-1898), founder of Eli Lilly and Company

"This new release of ReThink is a major upgrade that further differentiates it from traditional system-simulation approaches," said Philippe Printz, Director of Development for Gensym Corporation. "For example, we have more fully integrated ReThink with Gensym's G2(R) real-time expert system platform. G2 is Gensym's flagship product A primary product of a company, which is typically why the company was founded and/or what made it well known. For example, MS-DOS, Windows and the Microsoft Office suite have been flagship products of Microsoft. CorelDRAW is a flagship product of Corel Corporation.  upon which all of its products are based. With G2's proven record for online deployment, ReThink is more ready than ever to support the entire business process lifecycle from as-is analysis to design to online automation. This breadth of capability shortens the time to completion of business process projects and, through deployment of the same model used for design, provides a mechanism for sustaining process performance. We are already seeing organizations such as the U.S. Department of Defense and Harte-Hanks, a worldwide customer relationship management (CRM (Customer Relationship Management) An integrated information system that is used to plan, schedule and control the presales and postsales activities in an organization. ) company, take advantage of this functionality.

"Another benefit that G2 brings to ReThink is its ability to represent time-based knowledge as part of the model. G2 enables process knowledge to be captured in the form of connected objects and rules that understand time. This enables an analyst to more realistically capture the dynamics of as-is operations and proposed designs."

Added Mr. Printz, "Another unique capability introduced with ReThink 4.0 is team analysis. Users can work in teams by concurrently accessing and analyzing a simulation or deployed model. Each user works with the same underlying model and can have his or her own unique views of the model and simulation results. This type of team analysis helps achieve results more quickly and further enables organizations to handle complexity."
