Gensym Announces First Quarter 2007 Results.


BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Gensym Corporation (company) Gensym Corporation - A company that supplies software and services for intelligent operations management. Common applications include quality management, process optimisation, dynamic scheduling, network management, energy and environmental management, and process  (Pink Sheets: GNSM), a leading provider of rule engine software for mission-critical solutions, today announced revenues of $4,093,000 and net income of $179,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. For the corresponding quarter of 2006, Gensym had revenues of $3,888,000 and a net loss of $473,000, or $0.06 per diluted share.

The results for the first quarter of 2007 included a non-cash expense Noun 1. non-cash expense - an expense (such as depreciation) that is not paid for in cash
disbursal, disbursement, expense - amounts paid for goods and services that may be currently tax deductible (as opposed to capital expenditures)
 related to stock-based compensation of $10,000, or $0.00 per share, as compared to stock-based compensation expenses of $94,000 or $0.01 per share in the same period of 2006.
