Genevieve D. (Sidel) Linfield, 89.WORCESTER Genevieve D. (Sidel) Linfield, 89, died Friday, February 8th, in the Jewish Healthcare Center. Her loving husband of fifty years, Arthur Linfield, died in 2001. She leaves a son, Stanley Linfield of Worcester; three daughters, Jacquelyn Linfield of Worcester, Arlene wife of Michael Duperron of North Attleboro, MA, Norma Abney of Ashfield, MA; two brothers, Norman Sidel and his wife Beverly of Merrimack, MA, Joel Sidel and his wife Carol of CA; a sister, Mildred Biliouris; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Linfield and Susan Sidel; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Arnold Sidel and a sister, Rita Piazza predeceased her. She was born in Providence, the daughter of Phillip and Florence (Greenfield) Sidel and graduated Central Falls High School in Pawtucket. Genevieve was a bookkeeper at Drake Petroleum for many years and was a long time poll worker and ward captain for the City of Worcester. She was a member of Temple Sinai and its Sisterhood and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Healthcare Center. Genevieve lived life to the fullest and never let the debilitating effects of cerebral palsy, that she acquired as a child, ever get her down. Her greatest achievement was her role as a mother and a wife, which she cherished. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her and will be dearly missed by all. Genevieve's family would like to take this opportunity to thank the workers and staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center, Dr. Sheila Trugman, Katie Juncknow and the Jewish Home Hospice Team for the extraordinary care and kindness shown to their mother by them. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12th in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Memorial observance will be announced.
