Under the unusual plan, a three-way partnership has been created whereby a contribution of Israel Bonds to the Jeffrey Modell Foundation will be matched dollar for dollar with a purchase of Israel Bonds by the American Society for Technion. For each one dollar of Bonds designated for this project, donors will have contributed two dollars of support for Israel. The proceeds will then be used for the development of the Jeffrey Modell Center for Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) at the Technion Institute and Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel.

The Jeffrey Modell Foundation is a non-profit foundation that raises funds to address a devastating dev·as·tate

"Israel Bonds is pleased to be associated with such a worthy cause, one that will benefit both genetic research as well as the economic development of Israel," said Patt.

"We hope that this important new program will one day play an important part in alleviating the plight of children suffering from P1 and serve as a model for other similar programs," said Emden.

Joseph Huber, the Director of the Metropolitan Region of ATS, said that the new matching funds program "marks a significant step towards the realization of a major breakthrough in pediatric pediatric /pe·di·at·ric/ (pe?de-at´rik) pertaining to the health of children.
