In addition, Genesis experienced continued revenue growth in 2001 with gross revenue expanding to nearly $29 million. Local services revenue posted the strongest gains, doubling from year 2000 results to reach $7 million in 2001.

As part of its ongoing efforts to focus on its core objectives, the company is concentrating more on local retail offerings and has closed its less-profitable carrier wholesale group. Other initiatives currently underway include opening sales offices in Mexico to complement state-side marketing efforts as well as developing new, specialized service bundles to accommodate its customers' growing prepaid telecommunications requirements.
