Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc. and OfficePower, L.L.C. have completed a long-term lease and services agreement for OfficePower to install, own and operate a 720 kW distributed generation Distributed generation generates electricity from many small energy sources. This on-site power and cogeneration plant will use state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly Environmentally friendly, also referred to as nature friendly, is a term used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.[1] , microturbines and cogeneration equipment that will provide a substantial portion of the building's ongoing power and thermal load requirements. As with all OfficePower installations, this system will operate both in parallel with Con Edison's distribution network and independent of it during grid outages.

"With concerns regarding the grid's reliability continuing to rise, this plant will allow us to offer our tenants increased power availability to meet their growing demands," stated Steve Rotter, executive managing director of Resnick.
