In the Church of England, General Synod was instituted in 1970 and is the culmination of a process of rediscovering self-government for the Church of England that had
 archivist ARCHIVIST. One to whose care the archives have been confided.  since 1979, is leaving the Anglican Church of Canada's national office in Toronto for the position of assistant director of information resources (1) The data and information assets of an organization, department or unit. Ms. Thompson said in an interview that in her new position she will be able to maintain her connection to church history and native rights and justice issues. She will be responsible for special collections In library science, special collections (often abbreviated to Spec. Coll. or S.C.) is the name applied to a specific repository within a library which stores materials of a "special" nature. , the Museum of the Regiment, the Canadian Architectural archives, the university library archives and records management program, and the university freedom of information and privacy policy.

"The position will also give me the opportunity to write and reflect in areas of church history and first nations justice issues," Ms. Thompson said.
