General Physics Corporation Employees received Awards for Excellence from the Social Security Administration.

Global workplace solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE:GPX), announced that five employees who support the Social Security Administration (SSA) recently received Deputy Commissioner Awards for Excellence, in support of SSA's Office of Human Resources.

GP's Project Manager Don Willett and team members Alison Wells, Holly Denham and Judy Koelbl were each presented an award for their support of the SSA's Interactive Video Teletraining Network (IVT). The IVT network is one of the primary vectors for delivering training to the 65,000 employees of SSA. Using satellite delivered video and featuring an interactive keypad that allows students to respond to the instructor in real-time, this system creates a nationwide classroom comprised of six studios and nearly 1,600 downlink sites. Last year alone nearly 6,000 hours of training were provided through this system.

Ed Hendley was presented an award for his contribution to the implementation of an XML development and authoring environment which supports the only on-line training delivery mechanism to pass SSA's stringent Section 508 and accessibility testing standards. Mr. Hendley developed these standards two years ago. This environment also supports the development of IVT entry level training for all claims representatives and service representatives' course materials for IVT training for approximately 3000 students per year.
