 LaBat has been named chief marketing officer for the Rail Services unit of General Electric Co. In this newly created position, LaBat is charged with overseeing studies of consumers and markets to ensure the successful launch of the company's new services. LaBat is also responsible for developing strategic marketing plans. He previously served as vice president of sales.
