General Dugan on Talk Radio.General Mike Dugan of the National MS Society is hosting a new radio show called "Serving the Community." The general, along with moderator Ira Kleinman, conducts interviews with leaders of prominent New York-area nonprofit organizations, in order to highlight opportunities for volunteerism within each. The show airs on New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of news-talk radio station WEVD. Late this summer the guest was Bob Bender Robert Michael "Bob" Bender (born April 28, 1957 in Quantico, Virginia) is a basketball coach, an assistant with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. Mr. Bender described running emergency shelters, responding to area disasters, and various Red Cross health and safety programs that depend on trained volunteers. General Dugan discussed the Society's public policy advocacy, the programs offered by chapters nationwide, and the role of the Society in stimulating and funding MS research. "All these activities depend critically on top volunteer leadership," he said. "From kids who peel bananas for cyclists in MS 150 bike events, to business executives who lend chapters their managerial skills, to world-class scientists who serve on our research peer review committees, this is a volunteer-driven organization," General Dugan said. Future shows will feature guests from the Special Olympics Special Olympics International sports program for people with intellectual disability.
