The award was presented during GTE's annual three-day, corporate-wide celebration of excellence. The purpose of this event, which was held in the Meyerson Symphony Center Symphony Center is a music complex in Chicago, Illinois and is home to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Symphony Center includes Orchestra Hall, which dates from 1904; Buntrock Hall, a rehearsal and performance space; a public multi-story rotunda; Rhapsody in Dallas, was to recognize GTE preferred suppliers, as well as individuals and teams throughout GTE, whose performance met the Company's very high standards for excellence set across a wide range of categories. The award to General DataComm recognizes not only the quality of its products, but other key metrics including technical support, price/performance, and on-time delivery.
