General DataComm signs technology partnership with Attachmate to provide enterprise-scaleable access solution.

MIDDLEBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 1996--General DataComm, Inc. (NYSE-GDC), the leader in providing real business solutions based on ATM products and services, and Attachmate(R) Corporation, today announced a strategic technology partnership to integrate Attachmate's robust RLN RLN Relaxin

RLN Resource Loaded Network
(R) remote access software with the superior network management capabilities of GDC's SpectraComm 5000 product line.

The resulting product, SpectraComm RLN, enables individual companies and service providers to deploy remote access on an enterprise-wide scale with a single, integrated solution.

This partnership brings together the best-of-breed in high-speed, scaleable WAN access technologies and open, flexible, secure remote access software solutions. The combined GDC/Attachmate solution will provide a turnkey See turnkey system.  approach for customers that streamlines implementations and simplifies support of multiple technologies. SpectraComm RLN will enable corporations to deploy high-end remote access providing enhanced performance, greater scalability and integrated T-1/E-1 for high-volume, high-speed modem access in an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol.
