Genencor International Inc. announces the availability of novel enzyme technology for the ethanol ethanol (ĕth`ənōl') or ethyl alcohol, CH₃CH₂OH, a colorless liquid with characteristic odor and taste; commonly called grain alcohol or simply alcohol. industry that could lead to improved energy balance and reduced production costs while obtaining higher output.
