Gene Logic Inc. (Nasdaq:GLGC) today announced it has expanded its BioExpress(TM) solutions with the launch of its newest disease-specific information product, the BioExpress Inflammation Suite.

The formal launch occurred during the Molecular Medicine Marketplace Conference in Santa Clara, California.

The Inflammation Suite is a resource of gene expression information developed for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies focused on creating products that target the genomic mechanisms underlying inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

The Suite currently consists of three gene expression content components: 1) human tissue samples and associated clinical annotations; 2) animal disease models; and 3) in vitro cellular model systems.

Diseases, as well as specific disease states and stages, represented in the Suite include: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's disease, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, as well as Osteoarthritis.

The Inflammation Suite is expected to expand to include gene expression data representing additional inflammatory diseases, including respiratory inflammation and other autoimmune diseases.

The Inflammation Suite will enable researchers to:

-- make rapid and accurate comparison of gene expression profiles from normal and diseased tissues;

-- conduct multiple queries for animal models of disease in different stages of development over a range of tissue samples;

-- characterize transcriptional regulation at the cellular level; and,

-- identify and prioritize potential targets and pathways for therapeutic intervention, diagnostic markers for disease stratification, flare and remission, and therapeutic responsiveness/non-responsive ness.
