GenCorp reported that its GDX Automotive segment completed an agreement to sell the assets and operations of its Viersen, Germany, mixing facility to its supplier, Vigar Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of Vigar S.A., Spain. (Acquisitions, Expansions).


GenCorp GenCorp is an American technology-based manufacturer. Established in 1915, GenCorp was formerly the General Tire & Rubber Company.

The name change was implemented in 1984 when GenCorp was formed as a parent holding company for General Tire's various businesses.

 Automotive segment completed an agreement to sell the assets and operations of its Viersen Viersen (fēr`zən), city (1994 pop. 77,224), North Rhine–Westphalia, W Germany. It is a textile-manufacturing center; other products include machinery, leather goods, and processed food. Viersen passed to Prussia in 1713 and was chartered in 1856. , Germany, mixing facility to its supplier, Vigar Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of Vigar S.A., Spain. The mixing facility in Viersen employs 35 people and currently produces an annual volume of 7,000 metric tons of specific rubber compounds needed for vehicle sealing systems for GDX Automotive's German customer base.
