GenCorp Forms JV In Thailand.

Raw material supplier GenCorp Specialty Polymers, Mogadore, OH, and ChareonPokphand Group (C.P. Group), Rayong, Thailand, have formed a joint venture company in Thailand. Under the name CPPC Decorative Products Co., Ltd., the new company will serve decorative PVC film and fabric markets in the Asia-Pacific region and provide expanded product lines to North America and Europe. The new company will initially focus on coated fabrics and decorative film laminates used in the home furnishing, outerwear, luggage and vinyl accessories markets. CPPC Decorative, with current annual sales of $25 million, draws resources from GenCorp's Decorative and Building Products business unit and C.P. Group's wholly-owned subsidiary CP Petrochemical Co. (CPPC). It will operate from two current manufacturing facilities at CPPC's industrial site in Eastern Thailand's Rayong Province. This fall the joint venture is expected to become part of GenCorp's planned spin-off company, Omnova Solutions, Akron, OH.
