Gen is a gem.
I was delighted to read Lisa Rinehart's "A Ballet Company Grows in St. Louis" (March, "Dance Matters"). Having just witnessed this company's work, I agree that Gen Horiuchi, the artistic director, has taken Saint Louis Saint Louis (l `ĭs), city (1990 pop. 396,685), independent and in no county, E Mo., on the Mississippi River below the mouth of the Missouri; inc. as a city 1822. St. Louis has long been a major industrial and transportation hub. Ballet to new heights. Yes, St. Louis' tastes are conservative, but Horiuchi is not afraid of taking risks. This is a company to watch. Kudos to you and Ms. Rinehart.
