Gemini, not Apollo. (Letters From Our Readers).

"The Hydrogen Economy" incorrectly explained the historical use of fuel cells. You wrote, "General Electric developed workable proton-exchange membrane membrane, structure composed mostly of lipid and protein that forms the external boundary of cells and of major structures within cells. Membrane organization is based on a sheet two molecules thick—a double layer of lipids aligned with their long hydrocarbon  cells for use as power supplies in the Apollo and Gemini space missions." Actually, Pratt and Whitney Aircraft supplied the cells used by the Apollo astronauts This is a list of all astronauts directly associated with NASA's Apollo program. A total of thirty-eight astronauts flew in an Apollo spacecraft, twenty-nine of whom were part of the Apollo program, the rest being Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz astronauts. . The company continues to be a leader in the fuel-cell field as United Technologies Corporation.
