Gelt Funding opens CT office.

While many real estate firms in the Northeast are downsizing their operations, Gelt Funding Corp., the Brooklyn-based full-service real estate finance firm, has continued its expansion by opening a regional operation in Branford, Connecticut.

The move completes the firm's tri-state market penetration and represents its first presence in the New England region. Allen Gross, president, made the announcement.

Stuart S. Chakrin, Gelt's senior vice president of sales and marketing, will spearhead the new operation, called GFC-CT, at 388 East Main Street, which will focus exclusively on residential and commercial mortgage banking. Chakrin who brings to the operation more than 15 years of real estate, banking and financial expertise, most recently as vice president and regional sales director at Citibank Real Estate Services, will be joined initially by a staff of eight. He will be assisted by an on-site director.
