Teachers Against Occupation (TAO) (www.teachersagainstoccupation.org) is a collective organized to coordinate various efforts by scholars and teachers to critique and resist military occupations worldwide. This site is intended to be a virtual 'meeting point' for different academic groups engaged in building opposition to imperial policies at home and abroad, and a resource for groups challenging government support for such policies. Collectively, TAO hopes to present a stronger and more coordinated voice of resistance to occupations that destroy communities and livelihoods.

On February 7, 2009, the trustees of Hampshire College voted to divest from more than 200 companies that profit from the Israeli occupation of Palestine. The Students for Justice in Palestine had waged a two year divestment campaign (The Nation, March 9, 2009).

As of February 18, 2009, nearly 200 faculty members of U.S. colleges had endorsed the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. To join the academic boycott, go to http:// usacbi.wordpress.com.
