GAZA--Demolished by an Israeli missile strike, a Caritas Internationalis medical clinic (pictured left) joined the many casualties of Israel's three-week long offensive on the Gaza Strip. At press time a shaky cease-fire was mostly holding.

Among the 1,285 reported killed by Palestinian officials were 895 civilians and 280 children. More than 4,300 people were wounded in this tiny, densely populated territory of 1.5 million people. Israel reported 13 fatalities, including 10 soldiers and three civilians.
