Gays in space?
There may be no gay characters, but you'd have to be from Mars
to miss the queer appeal of the remade futuristic space drama Battlestar
Galactica. Currently in its second season on the SciFi Channel,
Galactica passed on recruiting any of the original actors from the 70s
classic. casting instead a hot new lineup of young blood. Just take a
look at the rebellious ace pilot Lieutenant Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff).
Her interest in other women might be more than a little fuzzy, but one
thing's clear: There's nothing hotter than a militant blond
who lays down intergalactic law while decked out only in a tank top and
fatigues. Throw in a domineering female president (Mary McDonnell) and
some hand-to-hand femme combat (Starbuck and drop-dead gorgeous
robot-clone Number Six go at it in the season I finale) and there you
have it--a show Buzz is pretty sure will send lesbians out of this
world.
