Gaybo fury at TV show appearance by sick thugs.
The cruel thieves made TV appearances in their cabaret band Grease on the RTE shows the Late Late show and Live at 3.
The heartless musicians - David Meyers, 26, and Peter McDonald, 27, of Athlone - were caged for 12 months each on Wednesday at Roscommon Circuit Court.
The band members:
tied up a terrified 70 year old lady and threatened to shoot her.
brutally bashed a 76 year old man outside his home
bound the pensioner's wrist with twine
robbed their helpless victims of their possessions.
The Late Late Show host fumed: "That sort of thing makes me absolutely seething with anger.
"What I wouldn't love to do to those guys if I could get my hands on them for doing that to old people.
"It really makes me speechless with justifable anger."
Victim Catherine Dillon, 70, from Lecarrow in Roscommon was attacked and robbed while her son was out playing bingo.
Her telephone was cut and the thieves told her they would kill her.
Another helpless target for the thugs - 76-year-old Christopher from Lecarrow - was knocked down and bound with baling twine.
The cowardly thieves - who wore balaclavas - looted the pensioner's homes.
The Judge handed out three-year sentences to both of the robbers but suspended two years of the jail term because they had no previous convictions.
But their ringleader - 26 Aidan Fallon from Lecarrow, Roscommon - carried out the most savage attacks.
The cowardly thug was caged for a total of nine years yesterday after his second court appearance in two days.
One of his most brutal attacks was on a quiet elderly brother and sister who lived just a few miles down the road.
