Gay theme OK, but no casual sex.


Students at Curtis Junior High School and Curtis Senior High School Curtis Senior High School is located in University Place, Washington. It is a part of the South Division of the 4A South Puget Sound League in Washington's West Central District.  in University Place, Wash., will no longer be able to find the gay-themed novel Geography Club in their school libraries. But it's not because officials there are antigay. It's because they want to protect students from engaging in "high-risk behavior high-risk behavior Public health A lifestyle activity that places a person at ↑ risk of suffering a particular condition. Superintendent Patti Banks said she was alarmed by the book's "romanticized" portrayal of a gay teen hooking up with a stranger he met in an Internet chat room. "We want to send a strong consistent message to all our students that meeting individuals via the Internet is extremely high-risk behavior," Banks wrote in a letter to two parents who complained about the book's "casual and loose approach to sex."
