he photographed the revelers. The work is touchingly innocent now, but
in 1979, O'Neal couldn't find a publisher. In 1982,
O'Neal met Allen Ginsberg Noun 1. Allen Ginsberg - United States poet of the beat generation (1926-1997) Ginsberg , who loved the photos. Together they
selected the best, and Ginsberg added his own captions (see photos above
and at left). This year O'Neal and Ginsberg's project finally
appears in print as Gay Day (Abrams, $24.95), with a foreword by William
