Gateway getting new look. (Design and Development).


Gateway, one of Westchester County's most prominent office properties, is getting a new look thanks to a significant capital improvement program for the 530,000-SF building.

The capital improvement program includes a major renovation of the building's lobby, cafeteria, elevator cabs and common areas. The granite flooring in the lobby is being completely restored and touch screen directories and displays will be installed on the lobby walls. The reception desk is also being redone re·done

 with glass panels and brushed aluminum laminate cladding. New halogen accent lighting will be installed to highlight the lobby's solid wood paneling. The building's security is being upgraded with a new card access system and recording security cameras. Perkins Eastman Architects, a nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm, is directing the renovations at Gateway.

Amenities at Gateway include a full service cafeteria, 24-hour, 7-day a week security desk, on-site management and enclosed secure parking with two parking spaces per 1,000 SF of space. A deli/cafe, bank branch and stock brokerage office are located on the ground level.

With its sleek modern black facade, the 19-story Gateway office tower has been a fixture on the skyline of downtown White Plains for more than 15 years. Gateway is also undertaking a leasing program for the approximately 63,000 square feet of space that is currently available in the building. For many years, Gateway has been over 95 percent leased. But due to some recent bankruptcies of Metromedia Fiber Network and Frontier Insurance, a sizeable amount of space is now available in the building.
