S3(R) Graphics, a division of S3 Incorporated (Nasdaq:SIII), today announced that Gateway has selected S3 Graphics' Savage/IX(TM) mobile graphics accelerator A display adapter that performs a specialized set of graphics functions to render an image on screen. Today, all display adapters provide basic rendering functions in hardware, but many have graphics processing units (GPUs) that are sophisticated computers.  to power the latest in its award-winning line of notebook PCs, the Solo 5300. S3's Savage/IX, with integrated memory, allows Gateway to deliver high-performance graphics capabilities in a thin and light form factor. This latest design win reinforces S3 Graphics' leadership in the mobile graphics market.
