Jim Booth, vice president, Global Materials & Supply Management, said these additions place top talent and capability in the organization. Dave Russell has been named vice president of Supply Management and will be responsible for strategic supplier relationships. Mr. Russell joined Gateway in 1988 and served most recently as director of Supply Management, where he was responsible for supplier selection, supplier management, contract negotiations and bill of material costs. Dave Schroeder has been named vice president of Global Materials and will be responsible for worldwide material management activities. Mr. Schroeder joined Gateway in 1993 and most recently served as director of Global Material and Logistics, where he was responsible for Gateway's material planning, material systems and transportation functions. Prior to joining Gateway, Mr. Schroeder spent 12 years at General Motors Corporation in various manufacturing, materials and quality positions. Tim Kattner has been named vice president of Supply Management and will be responsible for global supply management for hardware items. Prior to joining Gateway, Mr. Kattner was vice president of worldwide materials management for IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) .
