Gary C. Faber Promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Foss Maritime.Experienced maritime executive to lead Foss' international growth and service expansion SEATTLE -- Foss Maritime Company, a Seattle-based marine services company specializing in worldwide marine transportation and logistics, announced today that it has appointed Gary C. Faber as its president and chief operating officer. Faber is an expert in salvage and vessel movement and the implementation of safety and environmental programs, and extensive project management expertise in extreme environments. Prior to his appointment as president and COO, Faber served as executive vice president of Foss since 2001. He oversaw the rapidly growing global services division, providing leadership for multi-million dollar projects in Alaska; Sakhalin Sakhalin (səkhəlyēn`), formerly Saghalien (sägälyĕn`), island (c. Island, Russia; South America and the Caribbean. Prior to Foss, Faber served as interim president of Seacoast Towing and before that as vice president of operations for San Francisco Bay-based Crowley Maritime. During Faber's tenure at Foss, the company's operations and service line have grown significantly. Most recently the company acquired two companies: Boston-based Constellation Tug Company, which served to move Foss' operations onto the U.S. East Coast; and Harbor Marine Group Inc., which allows Foss to now offer international and domestic customers a full range of naval architecture naval architecture, science of designing ships.
