Garrick-Aug named agent for retail malls in London

Garrick-Aug Worldwide, the international division of Garrick-Aug Associates Store Leasing, Inc., has recently been appointed the American retail leasing agent on behalf of Norwich Union Norwich Union is an insurance company in the UK. It is the biggest life-insurer in the UK, and has a strong position in motor insurance. It is part of the Aviva group, itself created by a merger of Norwich Union and CGU plc in 2000.  and Capital & Counties for six new regional malls currently under development in London, England.

Charles Aug, president of Garrick-Aug, said this assemblage of exciting new retail projects creates a very special opportunity to enter the Common Market and take advantage of the benefits of the unification of the Common Market that is going to occur in 1992.

Today, American retailers, restaurateurs and service businesses can now easily get a foothold in Europe and take advantage of this opportunity to lease space in these new malls, says Aug. And, he said, a cluster of stores in a major market will enable chains to closely study the marketplace and fine tune their operations to the local consumer tastes.

"The elimination of the language barrier makes London an easy transition: said Aug.

These malls have three or four anchor tenants which are England's leading department stores This is a list of department stores. England has already attracted numerous American companies who have opened units here, such as: McDonalds, The Gap, Disney, Sam Goody Sam Goody is a music and entertainment retailer in the United States and formerly in the United Kingdom. It is owned and operated by Musicland, which itself is owned by former rival Trans World Entertainment which also runs Suncoast Motion Picture Company and, until January 2006, , Tower Records, Haagen Dazs, Johnny Rockets Johnny Rockets is an American burger restaurant franchise whose motif is meant to recreate the American diners of the 1940s and 1950s.

Its restaurants' decor include jukeboxes, chrome accents and red leather seats, and customers are waited on by waiters and waitresses
 and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Garrick-Aug Worldwide has been appointed as the American leasing agent for the following enclosed regional malls in the London marketplace:

*Lakeside in Thurrock in for 1.3 million square feet

*The Harlequin in Watford for 750,000 square feet
