Garden State Soundtrack Nominated for Grammy Award; Record Receives Nod For Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.

NEW YORK -- The critically acclaimed soundtrack to one of the best films of the year has now been nominated for a Grammy Award. Epic/Sony Soundtrax's Garden State-Music From The Motion Picture was recognized in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media category.

Recently certified Gold in October, the soundtrack features songs hand-picked by the film's writer/director/star Zach Braff ("Scrubs"). "I am incredibly honored to have the soundtrack to Garden State nominated for a Grammy award," says Braff. "The honor truly belongs to the many artists who so generously loaned their music to the film when all we were budgeted for was the sound of me hitting a cowbell."

Critics and audiences alike connected with songs by indie greats The Shins and Iron & Wine, pop-culture mainstay Simon & Garfunkel, as well as the melancholy sounds of Frou Frou and Zero 7. Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly placed it on their "Hot List" and "Must List" respectively, solidifying it as one of the best soundtracks this year.

Called "this generation's The Graduate" by Spin, Garden State has grossed more than $26 million since its limited release on July 28th. The DVD will be in-stores on December 28, 2004. The film stars Zach Braff and Natalie Portman in a romantic tale about life, love and the great state of New Jersey.
