Gannett Introduces Gannett Video Enterprises.


MCLEAN, Va. -- Gannett Broadcasting today announced the launch of Gannett Video Enterprises, a new business created to provide high-quality, customized and cost-effective programming to other media for on-air, online and wireless distribution.

"We are taking the best, most exciting work from our award-winning television stations and customizing it for use by other media," says Roger Ogden, president & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Gannett Broadcasting, and senior vice president of Design, Innovation and Strategy for Gannett. "Viewers and clients across the country will benefit as we expand the reach of our strong, quality programming."

Ogden noted that Gannett is the nation's leader in high-definition news, and that Gannett Video Enterprises will be able to offer high-definition programming.

Clients will be able to choose from Gannett's award-winning TV talent to host the programming, which will range from full 30- and 60-minute shows for broadcast and cable to 1-3 minute segments for online, on-demand and wireless technologies.

"As the demand for content on all platforms grows, Gannett is ready to provide our best programming in ways that will appeal to customers of all types," Ogden said.

Holly Nielsen (hnielsen@gannett.com) has been named Director of Gannett Video Enterprises and will oversee the day-to-day operation of the unit. Nielsen, who was executive producer with KPRC-TV in Houston, has worked on special projects and produced award-winning newscasts at KPRC-TV and WREG-TV in Memphis, TN, and WNEM-TV at Saginaw, MI.

Leading the sales effort and helping to define both strategy and opportunities is Allan Horlick (allan@horlickmedia.com), a 25-year NBC NBC
