Gannett Broadcasting announces three executive appointments in its television group.ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 1995--Gannett Broadcasting today announced three executive appointments in its television group: -- C.E. "Pep" Cooney has been promoted to the position of president of KPNX Broadcasting Co., the Gannett-owned NBC affiliate in Phoenix. Cooney also continues as the senior vice president of the Gannett Television Group. -- Colleen Brown, formerly president and general manager of WFMY-TV at Greensboro, N.C., succeeds Cooney as president and general manager of KPNX-TV. -- Deborah Hooper has been named vice president and general manager of WFMY-TV. She had been vice president/broadcast at the station since 1993. In announcing these appointments, Cecil L. He joined KPNX, then KTAR- TV, in March 1977 as president and general manager. He began his career in advertising, went on to the Independent Television Corporation, and then joined KRON-TV in San Francisco as an account executive in 1960. There he held various management positions including president and general manager of KRON-TV and Chronicle Broadcasting Co. He is well known throughout metropolitan Phoenix as a dedicated civic leader. Brown began her broadcasting career 15 years ago at K*USA-TV, the Gannett-owned ABC ABC in full American Broadcasting Co.
