Gannett, NBC Reach Deal.Gannett Co., owner of 21 U.S. television stations, said it struck a six-year affiliation affiliation ( in full National Broadcasting Co. Major U.S. commercial broadcasting company. It was formed in 1926 by RCA Corp., General Electric Co. (GE), and Westinghouse and was the first U.S. company to operate a broadcast network. that reduces the amount of money the network pays Gannett to distribute its programming. With 13 NBC affiliates, Gannett has the largest group of NBC stations outside of network parent General Electric Co. NBC, like the other big TV networks, is pushing its affiliates to help pay for escalating programming costs.
