PRODUCTS RECEIVE REGULATORY APPROVALS IN JAPAN

Gandalf Technologies Inc., a leading supplier of remote access networking products, today announced that the company's XpressConnect (TM) and XpressStack (TM) remote access solutions have received two key Japanese regulatory approvals, allowing the products access to the Japanese ISDN network. These Xpress (TM) products underwent rigorous testing and surpassed all standards set for approvals.

According to East Consulting, an international market research group, the Japanese remote access market is estimated to be $200 million in 1995 and is expected to grow to $1.2 billion by the year 2000. In addition to this large growth, ISDN is one of the more widely deployed switched services available for remote access. As a leader in ISDN technology, Gandalf is well-positioned to meet the needs of this growing market.

"These Japanese approvals open an entirely new and burgeoning market for Gandalf, as the need for complete remote access solutions continues to grow," said Mick Chawner, vice president, strategy and business development for Gandalf. "Gandalf's penetration into this market secures a strong footing and provides the groundwork for continued international success."

"As a pioneer in ISDN, Japan sets very high standards for terminal equipment that connects to its ISDN network," said Mr. Kobayashi, president of Nissei Electronics Ltd., a subsidiary company of Hitachi. "Gandalf having received these approvals confirms our belief that Gandalf's remote access and concentration solutions are ideally suited to meet the needs of the Japanese ISDN market."
