GammaLink and Lotus Announce Technical Support Alliance Agreement; Coordinated Product Support Will Expedite Response to Customer Support Questions.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 1995--Accurate technical information and timely resolution of questions is now available for mutual customers of GammaLink, the Sunnyvale, Calif. originator of PC-to-fax technology, and software leader Lotus Development Corporation (company) Lotus Development Corporation - A software company who produced Lotus 1-2-3, the Symphony spreadsheet and Lotus Notes for the IBM PC.

, Cambridge, Mass., with today's announcement of a reciprocal technical support agreement for Lotus cc:Mail An earlier and widely used messaging system from Lotus that runs on PC LANs. Originally developed by cc:Mail, Inc., Mountain View, CA, Lotus acquired the company in 1991. Mail-enabled applications that are written to the VIM programming interface can use the cc:Mail system. and Lotus Notes when used with GammaLink's fax boards.

Under the agreement, GammaLink and Lotus support organizations will use a formalized technical support process which includes cooperative support procedures for problem reporting and problem isolation testing (before product releases), cross-company technical training, product exchange and marketing support between the two companies. The agreement will allow GammaLink and Lotus to offer maximum levels of product interoperability and integration, technical support and continued evolution of mutual products.

Products that will be covered under this new support agreement include all Lotus communications products such as cc:Mail and Lotus Notes; and GammaLink fax boards such as the GammaFax and CP4 CP4 - Committee on Politics, Philosophy and Public Policy
CP4 - Crystal Plaza 4
/LSI. The GammaFax boards offer such popular features for network fax applications as 14.4 Kbps transmission/reception, MR (Modified READ) and MMR (Modified Modified READ) data compression, Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) detection, and Error Correction Mode.
