, FRCP, CPE from Omaha, Nebraska was elected to head the International Medical Graduate Section of the American Medical Association American Medical Association (AMA), professional physicians' organization (founded 1847). Its goals are to protect the interests of American physicians, advance public health, and support the growth of medical science.  during the annual convention held recently in Chicago. The IMG Section includes over 35,000 members of the AMA (Automatic Message Accounting) The recording and reporting of telephone calls within a telephone system. It includes the calling and called parties and start and stop times of the call.  representing 15 percent of the total AMA membership. The governing council of the IMG Section will be chaired by Soori. At the North Central Cancer Treatment Group The North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG) is a national clinical research group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. The NCCTG consists of a network of cancer specialists at community clinics, hospitals and medical centers in the United States, Canada and  based at the Mayo Clinic, Soori serves as a member of the executive committee, novel therapeutics, health disparities and audit committees. Soori is one of the national recipients of the Excellence in Medicine Award for Leadership in 2006, presented by the AMA Foundation and the Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative.
