Activision Activision, Inc. NASDAQ: ATVI is an American video game developer and publisher. It was the first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles, founded on October 1 1979.  Inc. has acquired Quebec-based game developer Beenox Beenox is a video game developer, well established in Quebec City, Canada. Founded in 2000 by Dominique Brown, the studio became a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision in 2005.  Inc. in a move to boost its presence in Canada. Terms of the deal were not released.
