GamePC Embraces PC133 Memory and Abandons PC100; Transition Is Made to PC133 as Preparations Are Made for Next Generation Processors.

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1999--

GamePC, a system integrator of high-performance computing machines, has abandoned the use of PC100 memory for the faster and more efficient high-quality EMS PC133 HSDRAM HSDRAM High Speed Dynamic Random Access Memory

They have been shown to go as high as 150MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  front side bus and display amazing performance numbers due to the 33% increase in memory bandwidth, the fast 4.6 nanosecond (1) One billionth of a second. "With an average price increase of 50% in the last 4 weeks in PC100 memory modules and the low supply of them, now is the best time to shift our focus to PC133 memory," says Chris Connolly, head of Web Operations for GamePC. "It is perfect for the high bandwidth architecture for the upcoming Coppermine and the AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  Athlon CPUs."

The PC100 price increase is to be expected as fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´shn),

Todd Tokubo, Senior Reviews Editor for GamePC states, "Customers are buying GamePCs for upgradability and lifespans of more than a few months. The use of EMS PC133 HSDRAM ensures that our customers RAM will be useful for future Pentium III and Athlon systems especially now that Intel's Camino chipset has full support for the PC133 standard."
