Gambro Acquires Memphis Dialysis Clinic.

Gambro AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: GAMBaST, GAMBbST), a leading international medical technology and healthcare company, today announced that its wholly owned US subsidiary, Gambro Healthcare, Inc., has acquired the assets of the dialysis
1. the process of separating macromolecules from ions and low molecular weight compounds in solution by the difference in their rates of diffusion through a semipermeable membrane, through which crystalloids pass readily but colloids pass slowly or not at all.

UTMG's dialysis program consists of incenter hemodialysis, peritoneal peritoneal /peri·to·ne·al/ (per?i-to-ne´al) pertaining to the peritoneum. dialysis and home training to over 235 patients in the Memphis area. Dr. Sergio Acchiardo has been appointed as the Medical Director of the new Gambro unit.

With this agreement Gambro now provides hemodialysis treatments to over 1,100 patients in twenty outpatient facilities in the state of Tennessee. The Company now owns, operates, manages or provides consulting services to about 480 dialysis centers in the United States that serve about 32,000 patients. There are patients under treatment in centers across 31 states and the District of Columbia.
