Galoob Toys to Market Titanic Dolls.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1998-- Galoob Toys, Inc. (NYSE: GAL) today announced that it will produce a series of Titanic collector's dolls based on the film's lead character, "Rose DeWitt Bukater," portrayed by Kate Winslet in her Academy Award-nominated performance. Marketed under Galoob's "first look" licensing agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, the first doll in the series is expected to reach retail shelves in October of this year.

The first in a planned series of Galoob limited edition collector's dolls inspired by Titanic's "Rose DeWitt Bukater," the doll stands 11-1/2 inches tall and wears the evening gown worn by Rose in her first meeting with the "Jack Dawson" character. The doll's elaborately detailed crimson silk empire dress is fashioned after the original costume created for the film by Academy Award-winning costume designer Deborah Lynn Scott.
