Gallin completes boutique bar.

John Gallin & Son, Inc. has completed construction of North America's first Nespresso Boutique Bar, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Nespresso is part of Switzerland-based Nestle Group.

Situated at 761 Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S. , between 65th and 66th Streets, Nespresso Boutique Bar will open December 4, 2006. The 2,700 s/f boutique will also be a venue for selling state-of-the-art espresso machines An espresso machine is used to produce the traditionally Italian coffee beverage called espresso. A professional operator of such a machine is called a barista. The knowledge required in making the finest espresso is considered to be a craft, similar to artisan baking. .

Designed by the Paris-based architect, Francis Krempp, who has designed Nespresso's 50-plus boutiques in Europe, this bar will include German-built millwork for walls and ceilings, wood plank flooring and Italian porcelain tile Porcelain tiles are ceramic tiles with a water absorption rate of less than 0.5 percent that are used to cover floors and walls. They can either be unglazed or glazed.

The hardness of the tile is rated from zero to five according to the Porcelain Enamel Institute scale.
. New Jersey-based design firm The Aztec Corporation worked in conjunction with Krempp.

"John Gallin & Son built our corporate offices for us at 650 Fifth Avenue, so it was only natural that we turned to them when we planned on opening our first Boutique Bar in North America," says Nespresso USA's president, Frederic Levy.
