The Hult Center's Jacobs Gallery kicks off the fall season, as usual, with the Mayor's Art Show, which opens Friday along with the Salon des Refuses, at DIVA, 110 W. Broadway. The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. The original building was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence as part of his "main university quadrangle," now known as the Memorial Quadrangle. at the University of Oregon will look to the art of Asia this fall. "Inside the Floating World," an exhibit of Japanese prints from the Lenore Wright collection, will open in the changing exhibition gallery Oct. 8 and run through Jan. 8. Accompanying the exhibit will be Japanese prints from the Schnitzer collection and three related shows in the collections galleries, "Status and Authority in Imperial China," "Art and Everyday Life in Japan" and "Simple Pleasures." In downtown Eugene, the Karin Clarke Gallery, 760 Willamette St., will revisit one of its most popular subjects of the past year by holding another exhibit of the paintings of the late Eugene artist David McCosh, opening Oct. 4. Curated by Roger Saydack, the show will include figurative paintings, drawings and lithographs by McCosh, an influential art professor at the UO. Other shows at the gallery include Ron Graff and Craig Spilman, which opens Tuesday; and works by Margaret Coe, opening Nov. 15. The White Lotus White Lotus Chinese Buddhist millenarian movement that was often persecuted because of its association with rebellion. The movement had roots in 4th-century worship of the Buddha Amitabha, whose devotional cult inspired Mao Ziyuan to form the White Lotus Society, a pious Gallery, 767 Willamette St., will show "Intuitive Paintings" by Miao Hui-Xin from Sept. 16 to Oct. 22. From Oct. 28 to Nov. 26 the gallery will show 19th and early 20th century Japanese woodblock wood·block n. 1. LaFollette Gallery, 930 Oak St., will feature the work of Kris Ibach, a Eugene artist who does oil portraits, in October and November. Ibach, a student of Adam Grosowsky, is a past winner of the Mayor's Art Show. In December and January, the gallery will host the sixth annual Benchmark Printmakers' Show, with a dozen or more local artists taking part. Opus6ix gallery, 22 W. Seventh Ave., will show mixed media drawings by Clint Brown, a retired Oregon State University Oregon State University, at Corvallis; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1858 as Corvallis College, opened 1865. [Spanish : día, day + de, of + los, the + muertos, pl. of muerto, dead.] ," the community art center's annual show of art about the Mexican Day of the Dead festival, opens Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 11; Maude's annual membership show opens Nov. 18 and runs through Dec. 23. The Springfield Museum, 590 Main St., Springfield, will show new works by Kathleen Caprario, opening Oct. 11 and running through Nov. 5. From Nov. 8 to Dec. 3 the museum is showing "Eye of the Beholder: Fiber Art by Tactile Expressionists"; and from Dec. 6 to Jan. 7 it will show functional and sculptural metalsmithing by Dan White. Lane Community College Art Gallery will have a faculty art exhibit from Sept. 26 through Oct. 18; work by J.S. Bird from Oct. 19 through Nov. 10; and Tom Rohr from Nov. 14 through Dec. 1. In Coburg, the Alder alder (ôl`dər), name for deciduous trees and shrubs of the genus Alnus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), widely distributed, especially in mountainous and moist areas of the north temperate zone and in the Andes. Gallery is showing new landscapes by Mike Pease through Nov. 19. That's followed by La Petite XIII, the gallery's annual national juried show of small works, through Jan. 21. Up the freeway in Salem, the Hallie Ford Museum of Art The Hallie Ford Museum of Art is the art museum of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, United States. It is the third largest art museum in Oregon.[1] History Hallie Ford Museum of Art officially opened in 1998. at Willamette University will open "Toi Maori: The Eternal Thread," an exhibit of traditional and contemporary Maori weaving, on Sept. 24. Farther up I-5 in Portland, the Portland Art Museum The Portland Art Museum (PAM) in Portland, Oregon, United States, was founded in the last days of 1892, making it the oldest art museum in the Pacific Northwest. Upon completion of the most recent renovations, Portland Art Museum became one of the twenty-five largest art museums in opens yet another blockbuster show of European art this fall.
