Enrique Bernal G. (Rick Bernal) was named director of corporate product development. He joined Galileo in September 1995 as director of engineering for scientific Detector Products, leading the business' product development activities. Previously, he was vice president of research and development for Intra-Sonix Inc., Burlington, Mass. developer and manufacturer of minimally invasive surgical equipment; vice president of operations for the CVD CVD Cardiovascular disease, see there  Materials Division of Morton International, Woburn, Mass., manufacturer of infrared transmitting ceramics; and was with Honeywell Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., for 29 years, serving most recently as director of engineering for the Electro Optics division, Lexington, Mass., which manufactured infrared detectors, night vision systems, and sensors for aerospace and defense applications.

Bernal, 57, earned a BS in physics from College of St.Thomas, St. Paul St. Paul

Corbin L. Plymale has been named general manager of Office Products, assuming responsibility for all areas of operation for that business, while maintaining his role as Galileo's director of manufacturing which he has held since 1993. Plymale, 48, has extensive experience in operations management Operations management is an area of business that is concerned with the production of goods and services, and involves the responsibility of ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective. , including 14 years with Corning Inc., Corning, N.Y., where he last served as plant manager. He holds a BA in economics from Emory and Henry College Emory & Henry College, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is a small, private, liberal arts college located in the Southwestern portion of Virginia near Abingdon. , Emory, Va.

David W. Skiles was named general manager of Remote Sensor Products. He will be responsible for enhanced analysis of the market potential for the company's remote sensor technology, increasing the penetration of those markets and identifying potential acquisitions of product lines or companies that could help achieve the critical mass needed to generate substantial profitability. He will continue to direct the customer service and marketing activities for the company.

Skiles, 50, joined Galileo in 1992 from Millipore Corp., Bedford, Mass., where he was director of sales of the Milligen Division which manufactures and markets biotechnology products worldwide. He earned a BS in chemistry from Frostburg State University Background
