As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 8,857. Florham Park was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 9, 1899, from portions of Chatham . Rock-GW, the joint venture between Gale Real Estate Services Company and Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, intends to develop the 493-acre site into one of New Jersey's premier master-planned, integrated mixed-use developments Mixed-use development refers to the practice of allowing more than one type of use in a building or set of buildings. In planning zone terms, this can mean some combination of residential, commercial, industrial, office, institutional, or other land uses. . The venture is in the final planning stages for a world-class development, which will include the New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Jets' new headquarters and training facility, approximately 600,000 s/f of office space, an age-restricted residential community and a 250-room hotel. Additionally, 60% of the site will remain as dedicated open space. "We're very excited to have this critical phase of the process completed," commented Les Smith Les 'Lecter' Smith is an English keyboard player. He is currently a member of a British band Anathema, after having played for extreme metal band Cradle of Filth.
